Every small win counts even the ones nobody else sees.

Hey, my beautiful readers! Welcome back to My Sassy Stories, where I share my life honestly what I've experienced, how I felt, and what each season has taught me. So let's get into today's story, because I want to talk about something we all overlook: the small wins.

Everybody talks about becoming a better version of yourself, but what does that actually look like day to day? Every win isn't buying a house, getting a new car, making six figures, or having some huge announcement to post on Facebook.

Sometimes a win is simply getting your butt out of bed when you really didn't feel like it. And yes, I said it. 😂

My Small Wins Look Different These Days

For me, one of my biggest small wins right now is working on my blog every day. Writing something. Fixing something. Learning something. Making progress.

When I first started blogging, my goal was to eventually make money from it while still staying home with my kids. That dream started two or three years ago, and baby, it has NOT been a straight road. I made mistakes. I wasted time. I learned lessons. And it took me THREE blogs to finally feel like, "Okay girl, I think you finally got this."

My first blog took almost a year to get off the ground because I built everything from scratch myself. My second blog, I had a little more help and thought, okay, I can settle for this. But I still hadn't figured out how to turn blogging into what I wanted it to become.

Now here we are with The Sassy Stories, and your girl knows so much more about blogging, SEO, making money, and websites. That is a win. Maybe I haven't reached the finish line yet, but I'm not standing where I started either.

Sometimes You Have to Pat Yourself on the Back

I had to learn how to celebrate myself. Sometimes you have to say, girl, you did that.

One of my biggest wins happened when I went back to school at 30 years old for my diploma, because I wanted something better for myself. At 36, your girl graduated with her bachelor's degree. Now that was a big win.

And I'm about to step into another chapter, because I'm starting substitute teaching in September. Y'all, we are only a few weeks away! I've been out of the regular workforce for a couple of years, so it'll feel different, but I'm excited, I'm ready to get to the money 😂, and I'm proud of myself for continuing to move forward.

I Have Dreams I'm Trying to Bring to Life

Right now, I'm working on three things that mean a lot to me: The Sassy Stories, Sassy Get Money From Home, and Sassy Resource Center on top of preparing to work a regular job.

I know what some of y'all are thinking: Sassy, girl, don't wear yourself out! I'm not. I'm learning that becoming a better version of myself doesn't mean doing everything overnight. I can work on one thing today and another tomorrow, rest, breathe, and still have big dreams.

Because I do have big dreams. I want the beautiful house. I want financial freedom. I want my businesses to grow. And yes, I'm getting me another dog too, y'all 😂 I love my dogs, and I want one for the wintertime. Those dreams keep me going.

Some Days My Win Is Simply Not Quitting

People see accomplishments, but they don't always see what happened behind them — the tears, the exhaustion, the setbacks, the moments of wondering if any of this is ever going to work.

There are days I'm overwhelmed, tired, or crying because I don't feel like doing anything. But I wipe those tears, and I keep going.

That is one of my small wins. Not quitting. Getting out of bed. Writing that blog post. Trying again after something didn't work the first time. Every time I keep pushing, I'm winning.

God Knows What It Took to Get Here

I don't think everybody understands what I went through to get to this place in my life. But I do. And God does. That's what matters to me.

When I look back at the setbacks, the tears, and the moments life tested me, I can still say, girl, you did that. I thank God, because I didn't make it here by myself. That's why as I keep becoming a better version of myself, I'm keeping God in the center of it.

What I Learned

What I learned from this season is that becoming a better version of yourself isn't about waking up one morning with your entire life together. It's the little decisions you make every day. It's choosing to keep going. It's getting back up when life knocks you down. It's celebrating progress instead of beating yourself up over how far you still have to go.

Sometimes you won't have a whole crowd cheering you on. Cheer for yourself. Clap for yourself. Pat yourself on the back. Thank God. And keep going. Because sometimes the biggest win isn't that you never cried or felt overwhelmed it's that you cried, wiped your tears, and still made it.

So tell me, y'all: what is one small win you've had lately that you're proud of? Don't downplay it. A win is a win. 💜
